Sedona, Arizona

My husband and I traveled with friends this past year to Sedona in the Northern Verde Valley region of Arizona.  It was a fabulous trip celebrating a friend’s birthday.  Aside from breath-taking views of the Grand Canyon we also enjoyed the Pink Jeep tours, hiking and the joy of being with good friends.

We visited many of the Vortex’s in Sedona.  This is a picture of me at the Airport Mesa Vortex, which was my favorite.   Notice I am wearing a Vest Vocket – it was fabulous to hike hands-free and still have my phone available to take some spectacular photographs!!  A Vortex is a place in nature where the earth’s energy is exceptionally alive.  The energy swirls and draws to its center everything that surrounds it and you can see evidence of this energy in the swirling tree branches or twisted tree trunks.  They are magical places that can uplift you and give you a sense of joy, rejuvenation and healing.

We had some spectacular meals in Sedona.  The best by far was at Mariposa, one of the Dahl Restaurants.  It’s a Latin inspired restaurant that had spectacular food and views.  Twelve of us dined on the patio watching the sunset over the red rock formations.  It was truly stunning and we were fortunate enough to meet Lisa Dahl, the executive chef and owner of 4 amazing restaurants in Sedona.  We also dined at Dahl & Deluca, another one of Lisa Dahl’s restaurants.  It was Italian themed and I was so inspired by the delicious food that I had to pick up her cookbook “The Elixir of Life” on my way out.
